Lotte for Kloud - Packaging renewal + Colors calibration (Gold Premiumness adjustment) - 2019/2020
CHALLENGE: Lotte Corporation wanted to elevate the perceived value of their Kloud Beer brand through packaging and branding updates, while maintaining core design elements.
SOLUTIONS: I led a design project focused on subtle refinements to enhance Kloud Beer's premium image, here's a breakdown of the key changes:
- Information hierarchy, the information layout on the packaging was reorganized for improved readability, I prioritized premium elements by introducing a prominent "Premium" designation on the top front of the facing.
- Elevated color palette, the original gold lacked a luxurious feel, I meticulously collaborated with the printer to achieve a richer, more sophisticated gold color through meticulous color calibration.
- Modernized branding, the Kloud brand lettering underwent a slight adjustment to improve letter spacing and create a more contemporary aesthetic.
- Emblem refinement, the Kloud emblem was subtly refined to enhance legibility and modernize its overall appearance.
RESULTS: these strategic adjustments delivered a Kloud Beer packaging design that effectively communicated a premium brand experience while staying true to Lotte Corporation's core brand identity.

Lotte began its history on June 28, 1948, by Korean businessman Shin Kyuk-ho in Tokyo, Lotte Chilsung Beverage Co., Ltd. began business operations as Chilsung Cider in 1950 when the Korean soft drink industry was just taking its first steps.
Lotte has continued to develop and supply top-tier products and has grown to become both a driving force and a national icon for the country’s beverage industry.
With more than half a century of business experience, Lotte Chilsung Beverage is now growing to become one of the world's top-class integrated beverage companies in an increasingly competitive globalized business environment based on its solid leadership in the domestic beverage market.
Lotte sold 27 million cans' worth of its Kloud beer in the first 100 days after its debut, the new beer now accounts for about 16% of beers sold at large supermarkets, a rare success for a new product.
